How has Mr. September stayed so consistent for 35 years?

A reliable putter to sink clutch shots

Steve used the same Odyssey White Hot No. 2 putter during his hot streak from 2009 to 2012, when he claimed 8 of his 12 PGA TOUR wins. He still uses the same club today.

An elegant swing with amazing accuracy

Steve’s consistent stroke is due to his simple golf swing, which has few moving parts, limited wrist hinge, and a balanced follow-through.

Staying fit and flexible year-round

How do you win 7 PGA TOUR Champions majors in 8 years? A focus on fitness. For Steve, that means weight training and cardio in the offseason, and stretching and massage therapy when tournaments start up.

Dialing it in during practice

You can’t get as good as Steve without lots of reps. In his practice warm-up alone, Steve hits up to 850 balls as he cycles through the clubs in his bag, focusing on his swing tempo and rhythm.
